Most residential customers are served on this rate.

Grid connection and customer service: Covers the cost of basic customer care services, such as billing, record keeping and information services along with a portion of the costs being connected to the local electricity grid.
Distribution service: Costs to support, operate and maintain the local network of wires and equipment carrying electricity from the transmission system to the customer's premises.
Electricity service: The network of generating plants, wires and equipment needed to produce or purchase electricity (generation) and to deliver it to the local distribution system (transmission).

Time-of-Use (Rg-2A)
If you shift significant electricity use from times of high electric demand to when demand is low, you could save money with this rate option. This rate is optional to all residential customers.
Peak periods
On-peak 1 = 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday
On-peak 2 = 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday
On-peak 3 = 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday
Off-peak = 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday, weekends and holidays

MGE offers customers the option to purchase clean wind and solar power.
Renewable Flat Bill Pilot
MGE now offers qualified customers the opportunity to support renewable energy while fixing their monthly costs with our Renewable Flat Bill pilot rate. This pilot is open to MGE electric customers who meet certain eligibility requirements. The pilot is currently limited to 200 customers.
