Select the payment option that's best suited for you.
Automatically make your payment each month from your bank account or credit card. Log in to My Account to sign up.
View and pay your bill online through My Bill Pay. Log in to My Account to view your bill, sign up for paperless billing and make a payment from your bank account or credit card.
Receive text notifications when a new bill is available and pay your bill by text messaging (Text-to-Pay). Log in to My Account to enroll in paperless billing and enable text notifications and Text-to-Pay.
Pay your bill over the phone by calling 877-253-0151. When you call, be sure to know your:
1. MGE account number
2. Credit, debit or bank account number
3. Billing zip code
4. Amount of payment

Please allow several days for delivery and processing.
Bring your cash, check, money order or cashier's check to a number of pay stations throughout Crawford, Dane and Vernon counties. Your payment will be recorded within two business days. If you have a past-due balance, please call MGE with your payment confirmation number at 608-252-7144 to ensure prompt processing of your payment.
Payment Drop Boxes
MGE's Madison and Viroqua offices offer payment drop boxes on-site. Payments will be credited the next business day.
Retail payment locations are available; however, a processing fee may apply. We recommend contacting the location to ensure operating hours have not changed.
Paperless billing is available with My Bill Pay. To get started, please take the following steps:
1. Sign in to My Account.
2. Confirm your email address.
3. Choose paperless billing.
4. Accept the Terms and Conditions.
When you receive your MGE bill notice, return to My Account to choose your payment option.
Budget Payment Plan
Our residential customers* can budget for winter heating or summer cooling costs by spreading them over the year.

To sign up for the Budget Payment Plan, you must log in to your account.
*or commercial accounts for which the primary purpose of the service is to provide for residential living.
Keep the power on. Our residential and commercial customers can work with us to pay any past-due bills in separate installments. A personalized payment arrangement will help you avoid late-payment charges and service disconnection.
Summary Billing customers are able to pay online through My Account with My Bill Pay. Summary Billing is available for business customers with two or more locations. Learn more by viewing our FAQs.
