Natural Gas Rates
MGE takes seriously our responsibility to provide safe, reliable energy at reasonable rates. We work hard to control our costs. In 2022, MGE filed a limited reopener with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) of its approved 2021 rate case to address 2023 electric rates, which was allowed for in the approval of the 2021 case. The PSCW approved MGE's request, setting our electric and gas rates. Effective Jan. 1, 2023, natural gas rates increased 0.95%. The primary reason for the gas increase is technology improvements and infrastructure costs to maintain a safe and dependable gas delivery system.
