My Account

Understanding your energy use patterns will help you determine how you can save. With My Account, you can go paperless, view and pay your bill, monitor your energy use and compare with other similar businesses within MGE's service territory. You can also choose to receive payment reminder emails or text messages, and schedule AutoPay.


MyMeter provides MGE business customers with an energy dashboard to view their electric and natural gas usage data. It allows you to monitor your energy use within a billing period to better understand your energy usage and set performance targets to reduce your usage and demand costs.   
To access MyMeter, log in to or register for My Account. Then select the MyMeter Dashboard link. Visit mge.com/mymeter to watch MyMeter Tutorials and review Frequently Asked Questions. 

Summary Billing

MGE's Summary Billing is a free service that consolidates your accounts into one electronic bill with convenient online access to all detailed billing information. With Summary Billing, you will only have one payment due each month.

Net-Zero Carbon Electricity by 2050

As part of our path toward net-zero carbon electricity, we have set a goal to reduce carbon emissions at least 80% by 2030.  

By 2030, we expect every MGE electric customer will have 80% fewer carbon emissions from their electricity use simply by being an MGE customer. By 2050, we expect all MGE electric customers will have eliminated their carbon footprint associated with their electricity use.

Shared Solar

Our community solar program, Shared Solar, offers participating customers the opportunity to lower their environmental impact and carbon footprint—helping us create a more sustainable energy future. Shared Solar participants purchase shares of solar energy produced by MGE solar arrays at Morey Field in Middleton and the City of Middleton Municipal Operations Center. 

While the current program is closed to new participants, customers can join the waiting list to purchase shares if a new Shared Solar array is built to expand the number of available shares. Shares are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Green Power Tomorrow

MGE's Green Power Tomorrow (GPT) program offers a flexible, affordable option for supporting renewable energy and offsetting your greenhouse gas emissions. At a penny more per kilowatt-hour, customers choose the level of participation that fits their energy needs and their budget.

Renewable Energy Rider

Our pilot program serves business customers with renewable energy resources. The Renewable Energy Rider (RER) can provide renewable energy to power all or a portion of your business. MGE is the first utility in Wisconsin to offer this opportunity.

Outdoor Security Lighting

Keep employees, customers, and tenants safe. Let MGE design, install, and maintain your outdoor security lighting for a low monthly fee.

Most power outages are caused by storms or accidents. Although these forces are beyond our control, we know that reliable utility service is very important to you and your business.

Reporting an Electric Outage

If you are an MGE electric customer, your power is out, and you do not see your outage reflected on the map:

  • Click the "Report Outage" button on the outage map page,
  • Text "OUT" to 73904, OR
  • Call us at (608) 252-7111. 

We rely on our customers to report their electric outages so MGE can restore power as quickly as is safely possible.
If you are a gas-only customer of MGE, please note that although your address will appear (outside the green outline) on the map, MGE cannot restore your power because we do not supply your electric service. Please contact your electric service provider when your power goes out.

Your safety is our top priority. Following these tips will help keep you safe around electricity and natural gas.

Electric Safety

We rely on electricity for everything within our businesses; from lighting to powering electronics. While it's easy to take it for granted, keep in mind electricity can be dangerous.

While most electric safety rules are common sense, it's easy to get careless—especially if you're in a hurry. Be sure to follow these tips when dealing with electricity.

Natural Gas Safety

We use natural gas to heat our businesses and power equipment. MGE's underground pipes are designed to keep natural gas safely contained. However, if there is a leak, natural gas could create a dangerous situation.

To help keep you safe, MGE adds a rotten egg odor to the gas we deliver to you. This helps you detect leaks in and around your business. In addition to the smell, other warning signs of a leak include:

  • A hissing sound near a gas appliance, pipeline, or meter.
  • Unexplained dead vegetation.
  • A white cloud, mist, fog, or bubbles in standing water.

If you suspect a gas leak, leave the area or building immediately. DO NOT try to find the leak, light a match, or touch anything electrical such as a cell phone, lights, appliances, etc. Leave the building and call MGE's 24-hour emergency response line at (608) 252-1111 and warn others to stay away.

Utility Scams

Beware of utility scams! MGE customers have reported fraudulent activity that is constantly evolving in the form of phone calls, emails. text messages or in-person contact from impostors claiming to work for MGE.

Protect yourself and those around you by recognizing the signs of impostors.

Whenever you have questions or concerns about your service, we urge you to contact us right away.
