Madison Gas and Electric (MGE), your community energy company, updated our systems to provide an even better customer experience. 

Highlights

  • Updated Bill Design - Your bill continues to include the same information that is most important to you - in an easier-to-read format!

  • New Account Number - You have received a new 10-digit account number, which is listed in the top right-hand corner of your new bill.

  • Streamlined Back of Bill - The information on the back of the bill will be condensed, making it easier to find our contact information and review your payment options.

  • My Account Bill History - If you are registered for My Account, you will continue to be able to view your bills and payment history online.

ACTION REQUIRED! If you make payments through your bank or credit union’s bill payment service, you will need to update your bank or credit union with your new 10-digit MGE account number.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a list of common questions we've received regarding our new bill and our updated payment systems:

  • Why is my bill late? Due to system upgrades, some of our customers may experience a delay in receiving their bill. For those impacted, MGE is not assessing late-payment fees.
  • Did my due date change? Bill due dates are scheduled 20 days from the date the bill was generated. Due to our new system upgrade, some customers may experience a delay in receiving their bill, making it seem as though there is a shorter window to pay. This will normalize in the coming months. 
  • Whom should I contact if I have questions? MGE is experiencing a high number of calls due to our updated systems. We recommend that you email our customer services team at customerservices@mge.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
