New rooftop renewable energy exhibits at Madison Children's Museum

The Madison Children's Museum's Rooftop Ramble features some new renewable energy exhibits on the building's recently renovated green roof. The new exhibits include a solar flower pot and a repurposed windmill that pumps water for a water feature. Located inside the rooftop clubhouse is a mini electric vehicle with charging station. The car was repurposed from an older museum exhibit and given new life

In 2014, the Madison Children's Museum was awarded LEED Gold certification for existing buildings. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. The new renewable energy exhibits exemplify this commitment to sustainability. According to museum staff, "our children can learn about renewable energy and how to become good environmental stewards."
