Considering electric vehicle charging for residents?

Most auto manufacturers have announced electric vehicle (EV) commitments. General Motors, for example, plans to expand their EV lineup by adding two vehicles in 2018 and eighteen more by 2023. And Tesla will soon be offering an electric pickup. More EV choices that can drive further and cost less will kick start EV growth over the next several years.

Condo and apartment residents are bound to be asking about charging at home, where about 80% of charging occurs.

Charging stations can be installed in a common area or dedicated parking spot. And there are many options for cost allocation. Apartment property managers could offer the service for free or ask residents to pay a monthly fee. Homeowners associations could ask residents to pay for electrical system upgrades or share in the cost.

Here are some third-party solutions from companies like ChargePoint and Evercharge.
