Career Ambassador Program

Career Ambassador Program

Seven students from area high schools were recently recognized for their successful completion of MGE's six-week Career Ambassador program this summer. This is the second year of the program, which offers several college-bound high school juniors and seniors an in-depth look at careers in the utility industry. The program culminates with a required capstone project related to Human Resources, Corporate Communications, Electric and Gas Operations, or Marketing.

As part of their capstone project, students who worked in the Corporate Communications area created a how-to video for operating MGE's new, all-electric Chevy Bolt. With assistance from Phil Levin, MGE's videographer, students created the short training video for MGE employees who drive the car. The students worked as a team to complete the project, learning the complexities of video production, such as advanced lighting and sound, editing, and storytelling.

In addition to the Career Ambassadors program, MGE coordinates summer career exploration experiences including STEAM Camp and the UW People Program.

Congratulations to the 2017 MGE Career Ambassadors!
