Back to School with Solar Energy Celebrations

Several local schools started off the school year with more than just clean classrooms and fresh paint. Lincoln Elementary School and Madison West High School are celebrating progress toward adding new solar energy systems and expanding existing ones.

The Genius Tour Stops at MGE

'The Genius Tour' Stops at MGE

A group of more than 50 middle school students visited MGE this summer as part of the "Genius Tour" through which students explored careers in the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) areas. MGE is one of a handful of companies that participated in the weeklong summer camp.



A new school-based energy efficiency program called I-SEE (Investigations in energy efficiency) is being offered to an interested middle school this December. The program provides and inquiry-based approach to collect and analyze their electricity, natural gas and water consumption at school and at home.

Seven graduating high school seniors from the Madison area completed a six-week summer program designed to give an in-depth utility career exploration experience in the areas of human resources, corporate communications, electric and gas operations, and marketing.
