People power at MGE

Area middle school students participating in the Pre-College Enrichment Opportunity Program for Learning Excellence's (People) power program visited MGE. They learned how we depend on science, technology, engineering and math-based skills to operate the electric and gas systems.

MGE solar cart energizes new Madison Public Library sculpture

MGE solar cart energizes new Madison Public Library sculpture

The MGE solar cart provided clean renewable energy for an artist who was creating a new sustainable sculpture at the Madison Meadow Ridge Branch Library. Victor Castro, Madison-based artist-in-residence, used the solar cart to create the sculpture from repurposed milk cartons.

MGE electric vehicle charging program

MGE electric vehicle charging program

MGE recently completed a two-year tracking study of electric vehicle owner charging behavior. A total of 123 vehicles participated in the study. We tracked their charging sessions across 26 public charging stations located in the Madison area. Charging behavior at their homes was also tracked.

For more than 30 years, MGE has taught electric safety education in area elementary schools, reaching more than 50,000 students. Each year, more than 2,000 area elementary students participate. Designed for 4th grade, your classroom can participate too.
