Happy spring! It’s hard to believe the first quarter is completed. We are happy to bring you a new issue of our Powerline newsletter. You may notice a new look and feel with this issue. Our new banner and branding reflect our ongoing commitment to the greater use of renewable resources, increased engagement around energy efficiency and conservation, and deepening community engagement. Thank you for being part of this effort.
We’d like to reintroduce you to our school partnerships team in Madison Gas and Electric’s (MGE) Residential and Community Services department. Gloria Castillo Posada, Mario Garcia Sierra, Leah Samson, De’Kendrea Stamps and Mai Thao (not pictured) are your partners in energy education from MGE.
Whether you’re teaching about energy safety, energy efficiency, sustainability, renewable energy or new energy technologies, our multilingual school partnerships team is prepared to help you achieve your teaching goals.

digital Fun Book, which includes a variety of information and activities for K-8 students.
If you are planning a community resource fair, we would like to help by bringing energy education resources to your school. This includes hands-on activities and informative exhibits, such as our Pedal Power bike, where students can experience firsthand how their energy can generate electricity.
MGE’s Switch to Safety Program for fourth grade students is available to area schools in the MGE electric service area and demonstrates indoor and outdoor electric safety scenarios, with instructions on how to respond safely during an emergency.
Working toward 80% reduced carbon emissions by 2030
We would like to remind you that we continue to green our electric grid, investing in local and regional cost-effective renewable generation as we work toward our industry-leading carbon reduction goals. Under our 2030 commitment, the electricity delivered to every MGE electric customer will have 80% fewer carbon emissions as we work toward net-zero carbon electricity by 2050.
To achieve deep decarbonization, MGE is growing our use of renewable energy, engaging customers around energy efficiency and working to electrify transportation. Is your class interested in renewable energy or new energy technologies? Our school partnerships team can help.
