New electric vehicle DC fast charger at airport

Businesses can benefit from electric transportation. Paying less for fuel and maintenance reduces operating costs. Lower emissions help businesses meet sustainability goals and reduce their environmental footprint. Yet concerns about range are holding some businesses back from adding electric vehicles (EVs) to their fleet.

Today, many EV models go more than 250 miles before they need to charge, and auto manufacturers have announced vehicles that will be able to travel even farther.

Most businesses charge on-site; however, a network of fast-charging stations around Madison should ease concerns about running out of fuel. MGE just added a DC fast charger to our network of more than 40 public charging stations. Conveniently located in the Dane County Regional Airport's Cell Phone Lot, the charger provides 60 to 80 miles of range in about 20 minutes.

Businesses can also get quick charging at four other fast-charging stations in the area. And, other businesses are installing DC fast chargers across the state.

To learn more about EVs for your business, contact your MGE account manager. MGE can help you figure out fuel costs, charging needs and if EVs make sense for your operation.

We also recommend you take a brief fleet survey at mge.com/fleetsurvey so we can learn more about your fleet and help you identify EV solutions to reduce vehicle maintenance and fuel costs and meet your sustainability goals. Survey closes mid-August.
