Home budget plans, third parties and credit offerings
Help for your household obligations
Consider these options to help you with the cost of meeting your home energy needs:
• Budget payments. MGE's Budget Payment Plan spreads your energy costs more evenly over the year to reduce the impact of higher winter heating or summer cooling bills. More than 16,000 customers are currently signed up for this plan.
• Deferred payments. This option helps you pay past-due energy bills in separate installments. Once established on this plan, you are also eligible for the Budget Payment Plan.
• Third-party notification. Do you have a special situation that could result in hardship if electric service were interrupted because of an unpaid bill? You may want to name a third party—a friend, relative, church, community group or public agency. This party can help you find the cause of your payment difficulty—but would not be responsible for paying the bill. To designate a third party, call MGE at (608) 252-7222.
