Over the past few years, Madison has experienced major growth in the health care sector. Meriter Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center and the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics have construction projects under way. Wisconsin's armed forces veterans are well served at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital.

The American Family Children's Hospital, recently opened, will offer state-of-the-art inpatient and outpatient facilities including specially equipped rooms for bone marrow transplants and other cancer treatments.

Arc - Serves people with development disabilities and their families.
Family - Family Service of Dane Co. provides counseling to individuals, families and groups.
Mental Health - Mental Health Center of Dane Co. provides community-based, recovery-oriented mental health, substance abuse and advocacy services.
Senior - Wisconsin Senior Services provides specialized help for older adults.
