Interruptible Large Boiler Gas Sales Service (IS-2) [PDF - 82 KB] – MGE provides company-owned natural gas supply on a lower-cost interruptible basis. MGE does not contract for firm interstate pipeline capacity or balancing service to guarantee delivery of supply for IS-2 service, so customers are required to stop using gas when requested to do so. As a result, IS-2 customers’ natural gas service charge is lower than the monthly IS-1 natural gas service charge. Service must be nominated daily, however, and is subject to pipeline over- and under-run charges if your use differs from your nomination. You must be able to interrupt all of the service taken under IS-2. A contract is required for IS-2 service and special equipment will need to be installed at your gas meter site.
