Community Energy Conversations

MGE has invited its commercial and industrial electric customers to attend one of four Community Energy Conversations this summer.

At these sessions, we explain the decisions and trade-offs involved in planning for a reliable electric supply. Customers are invited to share their ideas and sort their priorities regarding our energy future.

Using a computer energy program, the Energy ED Simulator, we can graphically show the outcomes of energy decisions. By choosing different types of generation, participants can see the costs and the environmental impacts.

MGE held energy conversations with its residential electric customers over the last year. No other utility in the country has involved customers to this extent in developing a balanced, reliable energy supply.

In May, we mailed invitations to all of our commercial and industrial electric customers to attend one of these breakfast sessions at the Monona Terrace Convention Center. Two meetings were held in June, with two more scheduled for July 12 and 13.

If you are interested and have not yet responded, call 252-7392. We are limiting each session to 40 people. If we have more requests than space, we will schedule additional sessions.
