Shared Savings cuts heating cost for United Methodist Church
New boilers, financed with MGE Shared Savings, helped the church reduce operating costs.
Sherman Avenue United Methodist Church used MGE Shared Savings to replace two boilers that were originally installed in 1955. The new boilers increased energy efficiency by 35%, saving the church approximately $1,800 to $3,000 a year in energy costs. The church serves a multicultural congregation on the north side of Madison.
MGE's Shared Savings loan program can help you make energy-saving improvements without affecting working capital or existing credit lines.
The loan is repaid over time using the savings generated from reduced energy expenses. No up-front investment is needed. Projects can include unexpected replacements or planned improvements of $5,000 or more.
