As a community energy company, MGE knows the neighborhoods we serve. We work with neighborhood associations, environmental groups, libraries and others to help our customers. Please contact us to find out how we can work with your neighborhood group.

Community energy projects
Funding energy efficiency improvements and education for innovative neighborhood and community projects.

Community Pages
Sponsoring a free Web presence for nonprofit groups through Capital Newspapers' Community Pages Web site.

Environmental Action Teams (EnAct)
Cosponsoring Enact, which organizes Environmental Action Teams in neighborhoods, community organizations and workplaces. Participants learn how to minimize the environmental impact of their households.

Library partnerships

  • Providing energy information resources such as books, videos and portable energy meters to libraries.
  • Featuring energy information presentations, workshops, events and displays for adults and children.

Neighborhood newsletter articles

  • Providing articles to newsletter editors on energy issues affecting neighborhoods and neighborhood residents.
  • Helping newsletter readers improve their comfort, safety and home energy efficiency.

Neighborhood revitalization projects
Providing consultation and funding for major rehabilitation projects to improve energy efficiency in low-income multifamily housing.

Neighborhood workshops

  • Teaching neighborhood residents about saving energy and making their homes more comfortable.
  • Highlighting local businesses that supply energy-efficiency products and services.

Neighborhood surveys
Helping neighborhoods and communities identify the interests and needs of residents for services, community improvements and energy projects.

Small business seminars
Business experts provide training and ideas for local small business owners to help them improve their services, products and profits.

Speakers for clubs or groups
MGE speakers talk to local groups on many topics including:
