Power Tomorrow
Executive Management, Inc. (EMI), offers real estate services that include property management, leasing, tenant representation, brokerage and land development. The company's 20 employees manage commercial, residential and retail properties valued at more than $100 million. EMI also provides assistance with financing commercial real estate projects and infrastructure improvements.
EMI purchases green power for its multi-tenant building on West Wilson Street in Madison. This effort eliminates about 165 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
"We joined MGE's Green Power Tomorrow program because it is a step in the right direction," said Todd Greenwald, property manager. "It takes our commitment to renewable resources to the next level."
The company has about 20 buildings in the area occupied by restaurants, retailers and service providers.
"Our tenants use a lot of power to run their businesses," Greenwald said. "Buying renewable energy is one way we can help offset the negative effects of that energy use."
EMI helps protect the environment in other ways too. The janitorial staff uses green-certified products and cleaning practices throughout its facilities, and company landscapers are researching environmentally friendly options to implement.
"We care about the impact our business has on others and the environment," Greenwald said. "When possible, we try to incorporate green practices in daily activities because we take seriously the need to be good environmental stewards."
