Finding ways to bring natural light into indoor spaces has been an architectural goal for as long as humans have been creating shelters. And while the advent of electric lights made it possible to work – and play! – 24 hours a day, in recent years there's been a growing appreciation for natural light both as a way to save energy and as a way to create more pleasant work environments.
